Valencia Cf Vs Real Madrid Standings: Madrid can go top with a win

Real Madrid head to Valencia on Saturday with a chance to move top of La Liga temporarily, a position that could shift the title race before the weekend is over. A win would put pressure on Barcelona, who are only three points clear, before they face Atlético Madrid the following day.

That is why Valencia CF vs Real Madrid standings is drawing so much attention now. Madrid arrive with seven wins on the spin and four straight La Liga victories since the last international break, while Valencia are still searching for stability at Mestalla and have yet to win there in six attempts in 2026–27.

The numbers make the gap clear. Valencia have taken only two of their last ten La Liga meetings with Real Madrid, which is one reason the visitors are being viewed as strong favourites even without overcomplicating the picture. Last weekend, Madrid dispatched Racing Santander handily, and their run has given them a real chance to apply immediate pressure at the top.

Valencia are not arriving unchanged, though. Javier Aguirre was appointed at the end of September to stop the rot, and he did at least get a first result last time out, a 1–0 win over Elche. That does not erase the bigger problem. Valencia are still described as struggling, and the squad remains short of options: Sergi Canós and Diego López are recovering from ACL injuries and remain out, David Otorbi has a hamstring issue, José Copete has a knee issue, and Kayne van Oevelen also has a knee issue. Dimitri Foulquier could return after training, while Umar Sadiq has fully recovered from his hamstring problem and already showed why he matters by coming off the bench to score the winner against Elche.

There is a catch in Valencia’s brief lift. Aguirre’s first win gave them something to build on, but it came against Elche, not one of the teams shaping the title race. Madrid, by contrast, have been winning with enough consistency to make every remaining slip from Barcelona feel costly. If they take all three points at Mestalla, the table will not settle there — but it will look a lot tighter before Barcelona even kick off the next day.
