Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake Walkthrough shows Dodongo Cavern changes

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been fully remade after 28 years, and the opening of Dodongo Cavern makes that plain fast. Link has to push through the cavern on the slopes of Death Mountain, re-open it with a Bomb Flower from above and keep moving until the ancient beasts inside are defeated and the Spiritual Stone of Fire is earned.

That is why the search traffic lands now: the remake guide is not just revisiting a classic route, it is showing players exactly how this version plays while they explore Hyrule again. In this section, Link uses a Bomb Flower to crack open the far wall, and a large plaque points him toward the hidden path with the warning, “May this colossal and long-dead Dodongo serve as a guide to the hidden path”.

The route is built around small, specific moves. A Beamos watches the room with a rotating eye and can fire a laser if Link wanders into its line of sight. Bombing the southern alcove on the west side reveals a Treasure Chest with a Blue Rupee, while the northern alcove on the west side hides the Dungeon Map. On the other side, bombing the northern alcove on the east side reveals a Sheikah Stone, and the southern alcove on that same side opens a new doorway leading out.

That is where the guide’s own split shows through. Much of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake remains the same, but the walkthrough also points to new differences that matter when players know the old path by heart. Baby Dodongos skitter forward and lunge at Link, and slashing them makes them explode after a short moment, while a high alcove in the hallway stays out of reach for now. The remake is familiar enough to recognize, but altered enough that the usual memory of Dodongo Cavern is no longer enough on its own.

For now, the answer is simple: the remake is complete, but the route is not routine. Link still has to fight his way through Dodongo Cavern, yet the guide makes clear that the room by room details are what separate this version from the one players remember, and the next section will decide whether those differences stay cosmetic or reshape the path ahead.
