Gta 6 Price debate grows after Mark Tilbury’s $5,000 savings claim

Mark Tilbury has turned the GTA 6 price debate into a punchy savings pitch, arguing in a 30-second video that buying the game could save $5,000. He started with the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition at $99.99 and said the math only gets stronger the more time a player spends in it.

Tilbury, who has 9.3 million subscribers, said 80 hours with the main story would work out to $1.25 an hour. Add side missions and exploration, he said, and 200 hours of play would bring the cost down to 50 cents an hour. His line was simple: four hours a night would stretch that out to 50 evenings of entertainment, and 50 nights out at $100 each would total $5,000.

That is why his video is getting attention now. GTA 6 has been treated less like a routine release and more like a major entertainment purchase, with the game moving past the old price ceiling that most releases held to for years. The comparison also lands while buyers are already weighing premium add-ons around the launch, from Sony’s limited Vice City DualSense controllers at around $84.99 to Rockstar Games’ hoodies and tees, plus a physical poster at the Rockstar Store for $.99 and a free printable Leonida map.

But the savings claim only works if the game replaces spending that would have happened anyway. Tilbury’s calculation starts with a $99.99 edition and assumes 50 nights out at $100 each, while leaving out the console, electricity and the fact that GTA 6’s real length is not confirmed yet. The article also says the real bill can range from about $80 to a thousand depending on whether someone already owns a PS5 or Xbox, which changes the pitch sharply for anyone who still needs hardware.

That gap is the real story behind the viral math. If a player already owns a console, the total can stay near the game’s sticker price, but if they do not, the purchase quickly stops looking like a $99.99 joke and starts looking like a much bigger entertainment decision. Analysts still expect GTA 6 to make billions anyway, and creators including the Vanoss Crew and Kai Cenat are already planning content around it, which means the debate over value is only getting started.
