Jordan Schultz said the Chicago Bears are still shopping for another pass rusher and help on the back end, and he would not rule out one more move before the NFL trade deadline. The report lands with the clock ticking toward Tuesday, November 10, at 3:00 PM CT.

That is why Bears Schedule 2026 is drawing fresh attention now. Chicago has already been part of a busy market, and the latest read from Schultz suggests the team is not treating its defensive work as finished even after earlier moves around the league.

Schultz said on The Pivot podcast that he had heard both Chicago and the San Francisco 49ers connected to several defensive players. He added that the 49ers were still looking for a receiver and a pass rusher, and he paired that with a clear message about the Bears: they want another pass rusher and secondary help. In his view, neither team should be considered done.

The broader picture is simple. Schultz said a week ago that Chicago and San Francisco would be two teams to watch in what he expected to be a very active deadline, and shortly after that the 49ers traded for DeForest Buckner while the Bears traded for Jeffery Simmons. Those deals showed the market could move fast once the phones started ringing.

That is what makes the next Bears move harder to pin down. Schultz specifically mentioned rushers such as Josh Sweat and Khalil Mack, and he said there was a lot of Mack buzz around both clubs. But Adam Schefter said the Los Angeles Chargers still have not given any indication that they are willing to trade anybody, which leaves Chicago looking for a fit in a market that may not be offering many clean answers.

Even the secondary need carries some uncertainty. Schultz did not spell out whether Chicago is chasing a cornerback or a veteran safety, only that the Bears want help in the secondary. That leaves the need broad enough to keep multiple possibilities alive while the deadline edge gets sharper by the hour.

For now, the clearest answer is that Chicago is not done searching. The next test comes Tuesday at 3:00 PM CT, when the Bears either add another defensive piece or head into the final stretch with the moves they have already made.
