Calvin Ridley is set to play for the Titans against the Bengals on Sunday after missing Week 7 with a hip injury. He was active for the game after finishing Week 8 prep with a full Friday practice and entering the weekend listed as questionable.
The update matters because Ridley gives the Titans another available target at 1:00 p.m. ET, and the timing is tight. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said Ridley (hip) was in line to play in Sunday's game against the Bengals, a notable shift after he sat out the previous week and spent this week moving from limited work to a full session on Friday.
Ridley's return comes with other moving parts around him. Carnell Tate was ruled out for Sunday, which leaves Ayomanor and Wan'Dale Robinson in elevated roles in the passing game, while Tyjae Spears also will not play after not practicing Friday. That gives Pollard a chance to pace the Titans backfield against Cincinnati on Sunday.
The main unknown is how much Ridley will actually be used after the hip injury. He is available, but the workload question remains after a one-week absence, and the Titans still have a short road back to fuller health with Carnell Tate expected to return after the bye for Week 10 against the Jaguars on Sunday, Nov. 15.
