Kelly Reilly said in July that Dutton Ranch is slated to start filming early in 2027 for Season 2, giving fans the clearest timing update yet on when the next run of episodes may move from paper to camera. But the show still does not have an official Season 2 premiere date.

That matters now because no new episode of Dutton Ranch is airing tonight, and the search for Kelly Reilly Dutton Ranch Season 2 is really a search for a date. Paramount+ renewed the series on Wednesday, June 24, after a first season that posted a 90% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, drew 12.9 million viewers globally in the seven days after its premiere, and delivered 2.9 million total viewers in its two-episode debut on Paramount Network on May 15. The premiere telecast alone reached 1.85 million viewers, and the show ranked as the No. 1 cable entertainment telecast among adults 18-49 and total viewers.

Matt Thunell said the series had resonated with audiences in a powerful way and that Paramount Television Studios looked forward to bringing fans more stories in Season 2. Reilly, meanwhile, said the room starts up pretty quick and that the next six months are about writing, which means the show is still in the early stages even after the renewal. The math is simple: if filming begins early in 2027, a premiere would not arrive until after production and postproduction are finished, leaving viewers waiting well beyond the summer comments that first set the timetable.

That delay sits beside another reality. Episode 9, “El Padrino,” left major cliffhangers and unanswered questions, including whether Beth and Rip will rescue Carter after he was kidnapped by Mariano's cartel men, whether Beulah and Oreana will learn who killed Rob-Will, and what Joaquin and Sheriff Wade will do next. Rumors about a feud escalation between Cole Hauser and Taylor Sheridan have swirled around the show, but there is no sign in the available information that the dispute has changed the Season 2 plan or that Rip is leaving Dutton Ranch.

For now, the answer is plain: Dutton Ranch has a second season, filming is expected to start early next year, and the premiere date remains the missing piece. Until that changes, fans have a renewal to hold onto and a calendar they still cannot mark.
