Pakistan beat India by four wickets in the Hong Kong International Sixes 2026 on Friday, chasing down 89 and reaching 92 for two in 3.5 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bowl. The result put Pakistan on top of Group C with two points from two matches and left India bottom of the three-team group without a point.
The match belonged to Shashank Singh as much as anyone in blue. He hammered 40 off 11 deliveries and gave India a total of 88 for five in six overs, with Nitish Rana making 19 and Rahul Tripathi nine, but Pakistan’s reply was brutal from the start. Abbas Afridi hit five consecutive sixes off Krunal Pandya in the opening over, finished with 35 off eight balls, and then teamed with Khawaja Nafay, who stayed unbeaten on 41 off 12 deliveries, in a stand of 59 runs off 13 balls that ended the contest quickly.
Shehbaz Sharif moved fast after the win, posting congratulations on X and calling it a superb four-wicket victory over India in what he described as Pakistan’s opening clash in the Hong Kong Sixes 2026. He also praised Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi and his team for their efforts in preparing and supporting the players. That wording did not quite match the day’s sequence: Pakistan had already lost to the United Arab Emirates by one wicket earlier in the day, which means the India game was not its first outing.
The result still leaves Pakistan in command of Group C, while India now face the UAE on Saturday in their final group-stage match. In a six-a-side tournament where margins turn fast, Pakistan’s speed through the chase mattered as much as the win itself.
