Al Ahly are set to face Modern Sport in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday, October 29, 2026, in a meeting that puts third place against fifth rather than a gap between title chasers and also-rans. The match is scheduled for 5:00 PM Egypt and Saudi Arabia time, or 6:00 PM UAE time, and will air on ON Sport.
That is why interest around modern sport vs Al Ahly is running high today: both sides arrive close enough in the standings to make the result matter immediately. Al Ahly sit third with 17 points, while Modern Sport are fifth with 13 points, a spread built from the points system that rewards wins with three points and draws with one, so the table leaves little room between them.
The fixture also fits into a day of anticipated football matches across local, Arab and European tournaments, but the league position gives this one its edge. Al Ahly have been described as competing for the top positions in the Egyptian League standings, and a game against Modern Sport now carries direct weight for that push.
There is still one thing the schedule does not answer: who takes the points when the whistle goes. For now, the only certainty is that a close league race is about to be tested in real time, with the standings likely to shift as soon as this match is done.
