Collin Gosselin answered Hannah Gosselin’s Instagram Stories post on Thursday, saying she had been caught in the middle of the family dispute that has spilled from private conversations into public view. His response came one day after Hannah said she was stepping back from the situation and would not discuss Collin’s behavior growing up any further.
That is why Hannah Gosselin is being searched now: her comments on Wednesday, October 21, were specific enough to draw a same-week rebuttal on Thursday, October 22. She said she had not lived with her dad in over a year and had not spoken to Collin in close to a year, while also saying she had kept up a relationship with her mom and other siblings for several years. She added that she was only clearing up that point and would not comment further on what Collin did growing up or on her own experiences with him.
On The View, Collin said he had seen Hannah many times in the past year and described the family conflict as complicated. He said Hannah was caught in the middle and that nobody deserves that. He also said her post sounded like his mother’s words, especially the last part, and accused Kate Gosselin of using finances or Hannah’s relationship with her siblings to pressure her. Those comments pushed the dispute beyond a single social media post and into a wider public fight over what Hannah was trying to say and what she was trying not to say.
Collin also said the documentary being made for Netflix had already filmed a large part, and that Hannah had opened up about a lot of truths in it, including things Kate Gosselin allegedly did to him and things Hannah experienced at her mother’s hands. That adds another layer to a conflict that has already played out in his memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, released on October 13, where he made abuse allegations against Kate Gosselin. The missing piece now is not whether the fight is public. It is how much Hannah will ever say about it herself, after making clear she wants her role in it to end here.
