The Lioness Season 3 finale drew 9.7 million viewers in its first seven days on Paramount+, giving Taylor Sheridan’s series its biggest audience yet. It was the most-watched episode in the show’s history and the fifth-most-watched finale of any Paramount+ original.

That kind of seven-day total is the number streaming services watch closely because it captures the first burst of demand after an episode lands. For Zoe Saldaña, who leads the series as Joe McNamara, the finale capped a season built around Joe’s abduction, her unraveling home life and the reveal that Aaliyah Amrohi was behind the kidnapping.

The run also gives the platform a clean comparison point. Lioness averaged 8.5 million viewers per week across Season 3, a 62% jump from Season 2’s weekly average two years earlier. In absolute terms, that means the show added roughly 3.2 million weekly viewers on average, a surge that helps explain why the finale climbed to a new peak.

There is still one unresolved piece. Even with the record-setting finale and a season that ended with strong momentum, Lioness has not yet been confirmed for a fourth season. Season 3 was also not greenlit for production until 10 months after Season 2 ended, a reminder that Sheridan’s Paramount+ dramas can draw large audiences without moving quickly through renewal decisions.

The first three seasons of Lioness are now streaming on Paramount+, and the latest finale has strengthened the case for keeping Joe McNamara on the board. What remains unanswered is whether that viewership surge will be enough to turn the record into another season.
