The family of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, known to fans as Toluwanisings, announced on Wednesday that he died in the early hours of 14 October 2026. The notice was posted on his TikTok account and said the singer had been a dearly loved husband, family member and gospel minister.
That is why his name is trending now: fans, colleagues and fellow ministers are reacting to the death as news of the loss spreads online. The family also asked people to keep his wife, family and loved ones in their prayers, and said funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
The announcement gave the clearest public confirmation yet that the gospel singer was gone, but it did not say what caused the death. That gap matters because the news landed alongside grief from people who had been following him closely and were still trying to make sense of what had happened.
Pelumi Olajengbesi posted on Instagram and expressed distress over the development, saying, “My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings,” before adding, “I am deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women. This is not God’s plan for us,” and, “We say no to untimely death.”
Ennybets, meanwhile, said he was at a hospital when the singer was brought in, writing, “Brought my wife to the hospital for antenatal, and some car rushed in here bringing a popular gospel man.” He later said, “Come and see how BBO and the rest are crying so bad, I pray he survives this though,” then added that seeing “over 10 grown men” who were band members crying heavily in front of him was “giving me trauma.”
Mega99 also joined the reaction, describing the late singer as “a rare gem with a unique voice.” The family’s statement leaves the central question unanswered for now: Toluwanisings is dead, the funeral plans are pending, and the cause of death remains unknown.
