Wizards of the Coast has ordered a small reprint of the Warhammer 40K Commander decks, and the cards are expected to reach distributors and stores soon. The move puts the four 2022 decks back into circulation after a stretch in which sealed boxes moved far above their original $59.99 price tags.

That matters now because the decks had become expensive enough to push many buyers out of the market. The Ruinous Powers deck was listed around $230 on the low end, while The Tyranid Swarm reached $294, The Forces of the Imperium hit $312 and The Necron Dynasties climbed to $356. Individual cards from the set followed the same pattern, with Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph at $33, Cryptothrall at $32 and Shadow in the Warp at $17.

The original release in 2022 gave players four Commander decks built around The Ruinous Powers, The Tyranid Swarm, The Forces of the Imperium and The Necron Dynasties, and the new run is aimed at making those products easier to find through normal channels. Wizards said WPN retailers should check with their distributors because availability may vary by region, which means the reprint is not landing evenly everywhere at once.

That unevenness is the part that keeps this from looking like a full reset. Wizards called the run small, but it did not say how many decks are being printed, and it made no mention of new printings for the Collector’s Edition versions. For buyers hoping to see sealed prices fall hard, the difference between a limited restock and a broad reissue will matter more than the announcement itself.

For now, the practical takeaway is straightforward: the decks are coming back, but not in a way that guarantees broad relief. If the supply truly is limited, the best prices may move quickly and the Collector’s Edition versions may stay scarce, leaving this as a partial answer rather than a full correction to the market that formed after 2022.
