Apple has listed the finale of Last Seen, titled “The Choice,” for Wednesday, Oct. 7, setting up the end of the six-episode Apple TV thriller. The streaming service has not given a series-specific release time, but it usually posts its Wednesday originals at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday evening.
That timing matters because Last Seen streams exclusively on Apple TV, and new subscribers can watch it through the service’s 7-day free trial before it rolls into a $14.99 monthly subscription. For viewers looking to catch up before the finale, the count is simple: one episode remains, and the finish line is now on the calendar.
Patrick Brammall stars as Ian Ridley, a police detective whose life fell apart 11 years ago when his young daughter, Maggie, disappeared. He now works as a police dispatcher, and the show has built toward the moment when he becomes convinced that a teenage girl on a distress call is Maggie. Kris Mrksa adapted the series from Ryan David Jahn’s novel The Dispatcher.
The finale arrives after a brutal run of events that left Henry, Jenna and Sarah on the road, with only Henry’s brother, Donnie, knowing where they were headed. In Episode 5, a bullet stranded their car in the middle of nowhere, and when Henry left to find supplies, Jenna urged Sarah to run. She told her, “We loved you and we tried, but it wasn’t right,” even though Sarah later came back because she could not leave the only mother she knows.
Apple’s synopsis for the finale says an explosive confrontation between Ian and Henry leaves Sarah at a crossroads, and that is the real draw now that the date is set. Episode 4 ended with Jenna confessing that Sarah is really Maggie, Bill was killed in the shootout, and the series has been tightening the frame ever since with the story of how this family was built, broken and reshaped over 15 years. That history gives the finale its force, but it also leaves the sharpest question hanging: whether Ian, Henry and Sarah can still face one another without everything collapsing for good.
Viewers of Last Seen now know when the end is due, how to watch it, and what kind of reckoning the title “The Choice” is pointing toward. The finale will either lock in Ian’s long search for Maggie or push the three central characters into one last break from the lives they have been forced to live.
