Uber Eats launched a September 21 promotion in Mexico centered on yellow flowers, with discounts of 5%, 10% and 20% across selected merchants in the app. The company also sent users a message that said, “Yellow Flowers Day is here!” as it pushed flowers, chocolates, wines and other gift items tied to the date.

The sharpest offer is a 20% discount at Florería los Tulipanes on yellow flowers for September 21. Uber Eats also listed a 10% discount at La Casa de las Flores and a 5% discount on yellow-flower arrangements at Instaflora, with express delivery mentioned as part of the offer. Beyond florists, the promotion reaches Chedraui and Soriana with discounts of up to 20% on complementary products, while La Europea is advertising up to 40% off wines and Fantasías Miguel is offering 100 pesos off a purchase of 450 pesos.

The date has grown into a commercial event after starting as a pop-culture reference. Floricienta premiered in 2004, and the yellow flowers in the story became linked to the protagonist’s wish to receive them from the person she loved; the song Flores Amarillas helped cement that idea, and TikTok, Instagram and other platforms carried it into a digital habit. What began as a screen memory now drives a shopping wave every September 21, even though the date is not an official Mexican celebration and is not an ancient tradition.

That commercial push still comes with limits. Uber Eats said the discounts can change depending on the user’s location, the establishment’s availability and the products shown in the app at the time of ordering, which means the same promotion will not look identical for every customer. The Home Depot is also included as an option for those who want to give a plant with yellow flowers instead of a traditional bouquet, underscoring how far the trend has moved from a single flower delivery into a broader gift market.

For users, the practical answer is simple: the promotion is live now, but what appears on screen depends on where they are and what is in stock. For Uber Eats, the bigger test is whether a trend born from Floricienta and amplified online can keep pulling in orders for flowers and add-on gifts well beyond September 21.
