What gives the matchup its bite is the contrast in styles and numbers. Colorado leads FBS with five sacks on third downs, which gives it a clear path to disrupting drives if Northwestern’s protection slips. But the bigger question is how Northwestern handles Lewis without giving up the kind of explosive completions that have fueled Colorado’s start. He already threw for 366 yards and four touchdowns against Weber State and sealed the opener at Georgia Tech with a late touchdown drive, so the Wildcats will need more than a standard game plan to keep him from dictating the pace.
