Costco has put its food court back in the spotlight with a teaser that promises a popular item will return for a limited time. The catch is simple: the company will not say which one it is yet.
The tease landed Wednesday, Sept. 16, on Instagram, where a short video showed two people standing with their backs to the camera and looking toward the menu inside a Costco warehouse. One said, “I think it's going to look great right there.” The other answered, “I think so too, I can't believe we're bringing back *BEEP* for a limited time.” The video ended on a black screen reading, “To be continued...”
That line is why members are searching now. Costco invited fans to guess the item, turning a menu change into a small guessing game at a time when its food court has already seen a few changes this year. Earlier, the company quietly rolled out a hot dog and bottled water combo, letting members swap the traditional 20-ounce refillable fountain soda for a bottle of Kirkland Signature water while keeping the price at $1.50. The hot dog itself did not change.
Costco also added a new chicken tenders option nationwide in July after testing it in select markets since May. The meal costs $6.99 per basket and comes with five strips and a dipping sauce. That gives the company a recent pattern of food court updates, but the new teaser leaves the biggest question untouched: what, exactly, is coming back?
For now, the answer is still hidden behind the beep. Costco has said only that a familiar item is returning for a limited time, and the company has not named it. Until it does, members can do little more than guess which food court favorite is headed back to the menu.
