They said he admitted posting the threats on social media during that visit, turning what might have been dismissed as online bluster into a criminal case with 23 separate counts.
The affidavit adds a detail that sharpens the case further. Investigators said Strube showed signs of paranoia, but they also said he admitted to the posts, leaving little room for a claim that the messages were not his. In the threats involving Ben Shapiro, the affidavit says he included a countdown to an apparent target date that referenced Shapiro's Jewish faith, a detail that makes the allegation more specific than a vague online insult or a stray threat.
Palm Beach County records show Strube remained jailed without bond after that interview, but the case file does not lay out the next court step.
