“Big Brother” is not starting at its usual time Sunday night because CBS is pushing the episode back for NFL coverage and a delayed edition of “60 Minutes.” The network now lists the show for 8:30 p.m. ET, after the newsmagazine, with the episode expected to run until about 9:31 p.m. ET.

Julie Chen Moonves added to the confusion during Thursday’s live episode when she announced an 8 p.m. start time. CBS later updated the listing to 8:30 p.m. ET, creating a gap between what viewers heard on air and what the schedule now shows.
The football slate is the reason the timing has shifted. CBS’ late-afternoon NFL window includes Packers at Vikings and Cardinals at Chargers, depending on market, and viewers in the New York City and North Jersey television markets are expected to see Jets at Titans at 1 p.m. ET and Packers at Vikings at 4:25 p.m. ET.
The episode itself is expected to focus on Yash Patel’s Week 10 HOH win, the nominations and the fallout from that strategy. The Pressure Cooker Power of Veto competition took place Saturday and is expected to air during the two-hour episode on Wednesday, Sept. 16, while the two-hour “Big Brother” double eviction episode airs Thursday, Sept. 17, at 8 p.m. ET.
For Sunday viewers, the important part is simple: CBS has already moved “Big Brother” later, but the real start time could slip again if the NFL doubleheader runs long. That makes 8:30 p.m. ET the current target, not a guarantee.
