Paramount+ has renewed MobLand for a third season and confirmed that Tom Hardy will return as Harry Da Souza, settling weeks of uncertainty around the crime drama’s lead role. The announcement on Sept. 3 also keeps Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren in place as the series heads into another run.

The timing matters because MobLand season 2 arrives on Friday, Sept. 18, with 10 episodes set to roll out weekly through Nov. 20. For viewers searching Mobland season 2 now, the immediate answer is that the show is not only coming back this month, but it already has a third season locked in before the second has even premiered.

That early renewal gives Paramount+ confidence in a series that debuted in 2025 and centers on clashing mob families. In season 2, the Harrigans are said to struggle to present a united front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire, while Harry must walk a dangerous tightrope as the family’s internal tensions deepen. The cast also includes Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer and Toby Jones.

The return is notable because Hardy’s future had been in doubt earlier this year. In May, reports suggested he might not come back for Season 3 amid alleged onset issues with Jez Butterworth and friction with him and others, and one outlet said his future was in limbo. Yet Hardy never disappeared from the series’ trajectory for long, and Paramount+ has now put him back on the board as the central fixer at the heart of the story.

Mirren had already signaled as much in June at the Taormina Film Festival, when she said she expected Hardy to be back and would work with him again in a heartbeat. Her comments read now like a preview of the decision that arrived months later. With Season 2 about to launch and the third season already ordered, MobLand is moving forward with its key players intact, and the next milestone is simple: the 10-episode second season begins Sept. 18 and runs through Nov. 20.
