The Houston Cougars Mobile App is the central place to buy and manage tickets, and UH Athletics is using a fully integrated digital mobile ticketing platform for entry. Fans are being told to download their tickets to a mobile device, place them in a digital wallet and use contactless scanning at the gates. The same app also carries news, rosters, live stats, maps and videos, and tickets can be transferred through the tickets tab by selecting manage tickets, transfer tickets and then choosing the season and game.
Parking is being handled with the same advance planning. For the 2026 season, the three primary lots, Blue, Orange and Green, offer a $10 discount when parking is bought before gameday, with pre-purchased rates starting at $25. That gives fans a cheaper option than waiting until Saturday, which is one reason the guide reads less like a promotional flyer and more like a nudge to plan ahead before traffic builds around the stadium.
There is also a transit option for those not driving in. UHPD has partnered with METRO to provide free passenger pickup to and from the game along the Purple Line, with shuttle trains running about every 9 minutes. The pre-event service runs from 8 a.m. through 11 a.m. or the end of the first quarter, while post-event service runs from 1:30 p.m. through 3 p.m. or until crowds clear. Pickup locations include UH South/University Oaks, TSU/UH Athletics District, Elgin/Third Ward, Leeland/Third Ward and EaDo/Stadium.
The guide also puts the practical details for arrival and entry in one place. The designated rideshare pickup and drop-off point is at the corner of Elgin St. and Cullen Blvd. on the north side of campus by I-45. The first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive a Red Built by Houston Cooling Towel, pregame starts at the Bud Light Backyard in Cougar Alley, and the revamped fan shop opens at 7 a.m. outside Gate 1 in the Stadium Parking Garage before reopening after the game. Fans looking for family options can head to the Houston Cougars Kids' Zone between Gates 1 and 4, where inflatables and games are set up, or sign up for Shasta's Kids Club.
What Houston is really doing here is making clear that Saturday is not just another home date. It is a full-day arrival plan for a game that carries bigger expectations than the ticket count alone would suggest.
