Bags of Chocolately Eyeballs sold under the Crystal Temptations brand have been recalled in 13 states because the packaging did not declare milk. Customers who bought the candy in Ohio and Indiana are among those told to stop using it and destroy the product.
The recall covers Arizona, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Indiana, Nevada, California, New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio and Wyoming, and the candies were sold through Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Homegoods and Sierra Trading Post. For shoppers with milk allergies, the problem is straightforward and serious: a product that should have carried an allergen warning did not, even as it moved through multiple retailers.
That is why the candy recall matters now. The warning reaches far beyond one store shelf and into several states at once, raising the chance that a customer could still have the product at home without realizing it. The missing milk declaration means the risk is tied not to how the candy looks, but to what the label failed to say.
Customers were told to destroy the product and contact Crystal Temptations with proof of purchase for a refund. Refunds will not be handled at the point of sale, which leaves the company itself as the path back for anyone who still has the bags and the receipt.
