Metrô Bahia will run a special operation on Wednesday, September 2, for fans heading to Vitória Vs Vasco at Estádio Manoel Barradas. The line will keep stations Flamboyant and Pirajá open until 0:30, but only for boarding, while the other stations will be used for disembarkation.
The move matters because the match starts at 21:30 and is the second leg of the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals, which will draw a late crowd to Barradão. For those traveling to the stadium, the closest stations will carry the load of the arrival rush, while the rest of the network is being used to spread passengers out after the game.
Maria Eduarda Studart said the teams are prepared to serve customers attending the match, with reinforcements at the stations with the highest demand and real-time monitoring from the Centro de Controle Operacional. That monitoring will also guide the number of train trips, which will increase according to demand, so the service can stay aligned with the flow of people before and after kickoff.
The one detail that shapes the trip most is the split between boarding and disembarking. Flamboyant and Pirajá will take fans in, but passengers leaving the stadium will have to use the other stations, a setup that should reduce crowding near Barradão while keeping the line moving through the night.
Passengers can pay directly at the turnstile with credit or debit cards, phones with NFC, smartwatches, payment bracelets or QR Codes, and the QR option can also be bought in Recarga Pay, 99 Pay, Banco do Brasil or Cittamobi. With the operation running until 0:30, the next thing for fans to watch is whether the added service keeps pace with the post-match rush as the game ends.
