Cris Cyborg has put her name forward to headline UFC 332, offering to step in against Amanda Nunes after the Salt Lake City card lost its rumored main event. Cyborg made the call on social media on Tuesday, turning a short post into a direct pitch to rescue a card that no longer had a locked top fight.
The timing matters because UFC 332 is scheduled for April 26, and the event was left exposed when the rumored main event between Valentina Shevchenko and Natalia Silva fell apart after Shevchenko was injured. Cyborg, 41, had only fought two weeks ago at PFL Tampa, where she beat Ketlen Vieira, then hinted at retirement before shifting back into one more high-profile ask.
Her post was blunt. She wrote, “Amanda Nunes. Tired of waiting for Kayla Harrison?” and followed it with, “Feel like saving a UFC event?” It was not just a rematch callout. It was a public attempt to put UFC 332 back together with the biggest fight the promotion could still make from a familiar rivalry.
Cyborg and Nunes first met at UFC 232 in December 2018, when Nunes stopped her in 51 seconds to claim the featherweight title. The UFC later shuttered its women’s featherweight division after Nunes retired at UFC 289, and Nunes was then scheduled to return at UFC 324 against Kayla Harrison before Harrison withdrew from that bout. That trail explains why Cyborg’s offer landed with force: it reached back to the one fight that still carries unfinished business while the current card was waiting for a replacement.
The catch is that Nunes has not responded to the challenge. Cyborg is offering to save UFC 332, but the decision does not sit with her alone. If the UFC wants a new headliner before April 26, it still needs Nunes to bite or another matchup to be made fast enough to matter.
For now, Cyborg has done what she could from outside the cage: she named the fight, named the date and made the card harder to ignore. The next move belongs to Nunes and the UFC, and if neither answers quickly, UFC 332 will keep heading toward April 26 with its most important slot still open.
