Coachella 2027 is already taking shape, and the latest report points to Tame Impala and Dua Lipa as expected headliners. Fred again.. is also said to be set for the festival’s “Returning to the Desert” slot at the bottom of the poster, a sign that the booking picture is firming up even before any official announcement.

The timing matters because the search around the Tame Impala Coachella 2027 lineup is being driven by rumor season, with the festival still months away and the poster not yet out. Dua Lipa is the name drawing the most attention here: if the report proves right, she would be making her Coachella debut, and by April 2027 it would be three years since her last album, giving the set a built-in reason to feel fresh rather than recycled.

That is also why Tame Impala’s place in the mix reads as more than a routine booking. The group would be playing Coachella for a fifth time, after appearances in 2011, 2013 and 2015 and a headlining turn in 2019. That 2019 slot came before the pandemic interrupted the touring cycle around The Slow Rush, and a return now would fit the festival’s habit of leaning on artists with a proven connection to the grounds.

Fred again.. adds another layer of continuity. The artist stepped in for Frank Ocean for Weekend 2 in 2023 alongside Four Tet and Skrillex, so the reported “Returning to the Desert” placement would not be a random nostalgia pick but a follow-up for someone the festival has already used in a pressure moment. That kind of slot is usually reserved for an act the bookers know can carry weight without needing a top-line banner.

The only real unresolved piece is the third headliner. BTS, SZA, Oasis and Radiohead are all said to be in the hunt, but one of those names appears to have moved ahead of the rest. Hits Daily Double says SZA is “way more likely” to land the slot than Oasis or Radiohead, while Miley Cyrus was reportedly in talks before turning down the offer. That leaves the final position looking less like an open race and more like a narrowed field with one clear favorite.

Coachella 2027 is scheduled for April 9th-11th and April 16th-18th at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, but the lineup release date is still unknown. Until that poster lands, the best read is that the festival is building around two strong headliners, a familiar returning act and a final slot that appears increasingly likely to go to SZA.
