Khadijah Haqq has asked a court to order Bobby McCray to pay child support, $2,033 a month in spousal support and $100,000 in attorney fees, escalating a financial dispute that has followed the couple’s split.
The filing lands now because Haqq says she needs help keeping up with living expenses for the couple’s three children — Christian, 15, Celine, 12, and Kapri, 5 — after relying on McCray’s income during the marriage. She is also asking the court to decide how much child support he should pay.
In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Haqq says the family’s standard of living was built around McCray’s earnings. She says she worked in the entertainment industry, but earned only small residual payments and occasional money for short projects. She says the household lived in a single-family home, had two cars, took at least one vacation a year, ate out or ordered in often, sent the children to private school and paid significant amounts for extracurricular activities.
Haqq says she cannot now earn enough to maintain that lifestyle on her own. She says she has been primarily responsible for the children and that McCray is not consistently in California or on a regular schedule when it comes to seeing them. She also says she has had to borrow money from friends and family to make ends meet, including an approximately $8,000 deposit from her sister in 2025 to cover living expenses.
That financial strain sits at the center of the filing. Haqq says she used credit and loans to bridge basic costs, while also saying McCray receives significant monthly income from the NFL because of disability and annuity payments and monthly SSA derivative payments for the children. She says she has not received those SSA payments for the youngest child, even as she says she has taken on most of the day-to-day care.
McCray filed for divorce from Haqq in August 2024, after the two first announced their split nearly a year earlier. The support request now pushes the breakup into a new phase, with a judge expected to decide how much he must pay for the children and whether Haqq gets the monthly support she is seeking.
