Charles Melton has not confirmed that he is playing Beast in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, but he did make one thing clear: he would love to work with Jake Schreier and Lee Sung Jin again. The actor spoke about the casting chatter while sounding open to the attention surrounding his name.
That is why his comments are drawing fresh interest now. For months, whispers have linked Melton to Beast, and the rumor mill around the reboot has also pointed to Kit Connor as Cyclops in the MCU, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey and Cailee Spaeny as Rogue. Melton, though, stopped short of confirming any role and instead focused on the team behind the project, saying he believes in Schreier and Sung Jin so much that he would love to work with them again and many more times.
He tied that back to his own background with Beef, the series that connected him to the pair and helped fuel the current speculation. Speaking to The Playlist, Melton said it would be amazing to work with them again and described it as exciting to be talked about and considered for possibilities around something amazing. He also said he tries to stay away from the fodder as much as he can, though he joked that he has only cut back on self-Googling to about 20 times a day instead of 50.
That is the friction in the story. The rumors keep growing, but Melton has not said he is Beast, and the quote that matters most is the one he did give: he is open to the conversation, grateful for the attention and still waiting for anything official to catch up with the speculation. With more Marvel Studios news expected at D23 this weekend, the question is not whether the chatter exists. It is whether the casting talk finally turns into confirmation.
