Michael Holley fainted on camera during PFT Live on Friday morning after overheating in his home studio, briefly stopping the live sports show before it cut to a commercial break.
The scare happened fast. Holley had not had anything to eat or drink before the show, and he slumped out of the side of his chair while Mike Florio was looking at the camera rather than the monitor. Florio said the show went to break right away so assistance could be offered if Holley needed it, a split-second decision that mattered because the incident unfolded in real time with viewers watching.
Florio later said Holley recovered quickly and was fine. ProFootballTalk also said Holley became overheated and fainted in the studio in his home, while noting that the show immediately went to a commercial break in order to get him assistance. For viewers, the interruption was jarring; for the show, it was a reminder that a live broadcast can turn from routine to urgent in a moment, which is why the control room will reportedly keep emergency contact numbers for hosts’ loved ones on hand as an added precaution.
The only unresolved question is what, if any, medical evaluation followed the on-air collapse.
