Andrew Wilson has put $300,000 of his own money on the line to force Candace Owens into an open debate over claims tied to Charlie Kirk’s murder. The money is meant to turn a fight that has played out online into a public confrontation, and Wilson says he has reached the point where he believes the situation cannot continue.
The push matters now because Kirk was assassinated on September 10, 2025, and the argument around his death has only widened since then. Owens became the most prominent of the self-styled online investigators, and her claims eventually turned toward Erika, which is where the dispute hardened from speculation into something more personal.
Wilson’s move is not a symbolic dare. The GiveSendGo tied to the effort says up to $300,000 raised there will go to benefit the children of Charlie and Erika Kirk if the debate does not happen. If the debate does take place, the same funds would first reimburse Wilson for the personal money he has put at risk, with anything left over going to his continued efforts to challenge destructive ideas through open debate.
That structure is what gives the campaign its edge. Wilson has said repeated offers to debate Owens were refused, while she has continued to draw attention without meeting her critics in a direct setting. In his view, letting those claims spread without challenge has become its own problem, especially when questioning her can bring personal attacks and intimidation from her most committed followers.
So the real question is no longer whether Wilson is willing to spend his own money. He already has. The question is whether the debate actually happens, or whether the money is redirected to Charlie and Erika Kirk’s children as the GiveSendGo says it will be if Owens keeps saying no.
