Palworld v1.0.3 landed on August 12 with a balance pass that pushes key progression items earlier, trims material costs, and makes World Tree Holy Water easier to keep on hand. The update also fixes a PS5 crash tied to the Global Palbox and a bug that could leave Pals standing down in the middle of a fight.
The biggest shift is World Tree Holy Water. It was completely rebalanced, its effects now last longer, and its weight was cut to 0.1, making it less of a burden to carry while players move through World Tree expeditions. It can now be obtained from World Tree expeditions, fishing, and the Large Fishing Pond in your base, while drops from Pals and Teafant Springs were also buffed. That matters because the item is required to farm any resource within the World Tree and to refine Paloxite ingots, so even with easier access it remains tied to the game’s late-stage progression loop.
The patch also changes how quickly players can reach several tools that shape base building and traversal. The Jetragon saddle drops from Level 79 to Level 70, and the Aquatic Construction Kit falls from Level 66 to Level 22. Both recipes were adjusted to match their new Tech Tree positions. For players trying to move from midgame into heavier automation, that is a sharp shortening of the climb.
Crude oil infrastructure gets the same treatment. The Crude Oil Extractor and the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor now cost fewer Pal Metal Ingots, and the Large Power Generator is cheaper to build. The exact totals are not listed, but the direction is clear: the update is meant to ease the pressure points that had turned oil production and power setup into a grind. Before August 12, those pieces sat deeper in the Tech Tree and demanded more material commitment, slowing down builds that depend on steady resource flow.
The balance changes sit inside a larger clean-up pass, and that is what gives v1.0.3 its weight. Coming about a month after the 1.0 launch, the update targets the spots where players had been spending the most time and materials: late-game World Tree runs, crude-oil chains, and the items that unlock faster movement and base expansion. The friction is not gone. World Tree Holy Water is easier to get now, but it still sits at the center of World Tree resource farming and Paloxite refining. That is the point of the patch, and the reason players will feel it immediately: the gate is still there, just less punishing.
