Phantom Blade Zero is now available for pre-order on PlayStation 5, and PlayStation has set a special gameplay deep dive State of Play for August 17 that will run for nearly 20 minutes. The game is still scheduled to launch on October 29, 2026, but players do not have to wait to lock in a copy.

That timing is what is driving the search now: the pre-order window is open today, while the broadcast arrives on a fixed clock at 7:00pm PT and 10:00pm ET, then on August 18 at 3:00am BST, 10:00am Beijing Time and 11:00am JST. PlayStation.Blog says the stream will be a closer look at what players can expect from Phantom Blade Zero, and it is the next dated stop on the road to release.

The pre-order offer is simple. Ordering now grants early access to the Treasure Basin accessory and the Legacy outfit, though both can also be earned through play. That matters because it turns the pre-order push into a small head start rather than a locked-off bonus set, which makes the decision less about exclusive content and more about convenience.

Donnie Yen is part of that pitch as well. He has served as creative consultant since 2023 and also works as the Facial & Motion Capture Actor for Mó Yuan, the character identified as Soul’s father. In the pre-order trailer, Soul is shown fighting enemies atop a speeding wagon and crossing blades with former comrades such as The Hunt, which is enough to suggest the August 17 stream will lean hard into combat and story without yet saying exactly how much of either will be shown.

There is one practical wrinkle hanging over the broadcast. PlayStation has warned that copyrighted music could affect co-streams or VOD archives, which means some viewers may not get the full show in every format even as the company pushes the game’s biggest pre-release showcase. For now, the clear takeaway is that Phantom Blade Zero has moved from anticipation to action: pre-orders are live, and the next major look arrives on August 17.
