United Airlines is bringing back daily service between San Francisco International Airport and Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport on October 25, then adding a weekly Saturday flight to Palm Beach International Airport on November 7. The two routes extend the carrier’s San Francisco network deeper into the East Coast and Midwest with new nonstop options timed for late 2026.
The moves land now because travelers are already searching for what United is adding from San Francisco and when those flights begin. By the time the West Palm Beach service starts, United says it will serve more than 100 destinations from San Francisco and will be running an average of more than 570 daily round trips there in 2026, a pace that shows how central the airport has become to the airline’s network.
The Cincinnati flight is the sharper of the two additions. United will operate it with a Boeing 737-800 fitted with 16 Business Class seats and 150 seats in Economy, restoring a route it first launched in 2017 and then pulled in 2020. The airline is returning to a market that still has nonstop service from Breeze Airways, which flies three times per week between Cincinnati and San Francisco. United’s version will be daily, and that frequency is the point: it is betting there is enough traffic to support a schedule designed for business travelers and connections rather than a few weekly departures.
The numbers back up that decision. US Department of Transportation data shows 98,900 round-trip passengers traveled between San Francisco and Cincinnati in the 12 months to April 2026, a large enough flow to make a daily service more than a symbolic comeback. United has also been steadily widening the San Francisco schedule this year, with 28 additional flights to Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego and Washington, D.C., after adding nonstop service last year to Panama City, Panama, and San Jose, Costa Rica.
The West Palm Beach service fills a different gap. No nonstop flight had previously operated between San Francisco and West Palm Beach, and United will start with one weekly Saturday flight using a Boeing 737 MAX 8 with the same 16 Business Class seats and 150 Economy seats. The schedule is set to run through April 3, 2027, which is why it reads more like a planned seasonal deployment than a permanent year-round route: the flight starts November 7, then remains on the books only through early April. It will leave San Francisco at 8:10 AM and arrive at 4:38 PM, with the return from West Palm Beach departing at 5:45 PM and reaching San Francisco at 9:05 PM.
Demand appears to be the reason United chose the market at all. US Department of Transportation data shows 25,300 round-trip passengers traveled between San Francisco and West Palm Beach in the 12 months to April 2026, while 33,300 round-trip passengers traveled between West Palm Beach and Oakland or San Jose. The new service also gives travelers from South Florida a one-stop path through San Francisco to destinations across the western United States and the Pacific Northwest, a pattern that fits the way United has built its fifth-busiest hub.
