Pocketpair has announced Palworld Online, a mobile MMO for iOS and Android that is slated to arrive sometime in 2026. The new game is being developed by Garena under an official license from Pocketpair, and it keeps the Palworld formula of pal capturing and base building while adding MMO-style co-op play and PvE.
The timing matters because Palworld is still riding the momentum of its 1.0 launch, and Pocketpair is trying to turn that attention into a broader franchise. Bucky, Pocketpair’s community manager, even showed a chart explaining how the partnerships work, a small but telling sign that the company wants the structure of the deal to be easy to follow as the IP expands.
That expansion is the real reason people are looking at Palworld Online now. Pocketpair is pushing the Palworld IP beyond the main game and into a new story, new quests and expanded lore, all built around a seamless open world. For mobile players, that makes the game an easy sell on paper: the same world, but made for phones and organized around online play.
But the word MMO is also likely to make some fans wince. A mobile Palworld MMO can sound, at first glance, like a shift toward a different kind of game entirely, one that may ask for more repetition and more live-service structure than some players want from the original. Pocketpair and Garena are betting that the combination of familiar mechanics and a larger online framework will outweigh that hesitation.
There is also a separate mobile Palworld game made by Krafton, which leaves the new project entering a field that is already less tidy than a simple sequel announcement. Garena, meanwhile, brings a long mobile-game track record from Singapore, with work across IP including Path of Exile, League of Legends, Need for Speed and EA Sports FC. The company has spent almost 15 years in mobile development, which is part of why Pocketpair appears comfortable handing over the licensing work.
What remains unsaid is just as important. Pocketpair has not laid out any monetization details, so there is no public answer yet on whether Palworld Online will use microtransactions or some other model. It also has not said whether the game will introduce new Pals or a new map. For now, the clearest next step is simple: Pocketpair has put a 2026 clock on Palworld Online, and the debate over what kind of mobile MMO Palworld should be starts now.
