Most PlayStation Network services were back online after roughly eight hours on Thursday, but the PlayStation Store was still having issues as PlayStation players waited for a full recovery. Account management, gaming and social features, PlayStation Video and PlayStation Direct had returned, easing an outage that had interrupted online gaming for many people.
The search for updates was intense because the disruption had stretched past six hours and hit on the day Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls was set to begin its open beta. The Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls X account said some PlayStation players were seeing login and network problems, and said the team was actively investigating the issue and working to identify the cause.
During the outage, the PSN service page showed all services as having issues, leaving online play and network access unavailable across the system. That wider failure mattered because PSN outages affect account management, the PlayStation Store and gaming and social content, and some digital games can require an online check to launch when the network is down.
The partial fix also left one clear gap: the PlayStation Store had not fully recovered even after the broader network came back. That matters for players trying to buy or download content, and it keeps the outage from being a clean all-clear. PlayStation has also said earlier this month that it will stop producing physical discs for new games in January 2028, a reminder that more of its ecosystem now depends on services like PSN staying up.
For now, the headline is not just that PlayStation Network went down. It is that most of it came back after roughly eight hours, while the PlayStation Store remained the holdout that players were still watching for a final return to normal.
