Ashley Trail became the first person eliminated from Big Brother 28 on the Thursday, July 16 episode, leaving the house after a unanimous 14 to 0 Big Brother vote. The result sent her out with no support at all when the season’s first eviction was finally settled.
The vote mattered because Trail was not the original target when the week began. Dee Valladares had nominated Mallory Aurichio, Taylor Brown and Yash Patel earlier in the week, but Aurichio won the Power of Veto and removed herself from the block. Valladares then named Trail as the replacement nominee, putting her in the spot that led to the first elimination of the season.
That left the week to play out through the show’s twists. Jason De Puy, Chuk Anyanwu and Rome Seymour had already earned safety earlier in the week, and Yash Patel later won the first Blockbuster of the season. That competition changed the final eviction picture and left Taylor Brown and Ashley Trail on the block, with Trail ultimately getting the vote against her.
The clean 14 to 0 tally also answers the question behind her exit: nobody needed to break a tie, and nobody was willing to defect. Once Trail became the replacement nominee, the block narrowed further after the Blockbuster result, and the house moved as one on eviction night. It was a swift end for a player who entered the week in a safer position than the one she left in.
Big Brother returns on Sunday, July 19, at 8 p.m. ET. The next episode will pick up after the first eviction of the season, with the block reshaped by the veto, the Blockbuster, and a vote that gave Trail no room to survive.
