Eric Trump opened up Trump Force One for a special tour and exclusive interview on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the newly renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport in West Palm Beach, Florida. The visit put Donald Trump's private Boeing 757 back in the spotlight at the airport formerly known as Palm Beach International Airport.
That matters because Trump Force One is more than a plane. It is the aircraft Donald Trump used before he became the 45th and 47th commander in chief, then again from 2021 to 2025 during President Joe Biden's term, and it has long been tied to his political travel and high-profile trips. The Palm Beach Post, part of the Network, reported the tour as the plane landed at the renamed airport in Florida.
Trump bought the Boeing 757 in February 2011 for about $100 million from Microsoft's co-founder Paul Allen, and over the years it has been upgraded with features that include 24 karat gold-plated seatbelts. The plane is mainly used by Trump, his immediate family and Trump Organization or campaign staff, which is why it often turns up in the background of his political orbit rather than in commercial service.
That is also what makes the aircraft different from Air Force One. Trump used that official plane while he was in office, then returned to his private jet once he was out. In 2016, the Boeing 757 became a campaign stage across the swing states, with dozens of airport-hangar rallies using the plane as a backdrop. After he was sworn in in January 2017, he stopped flying it and switched to Air Force One, only to bring it back into use later.
The plane has also kept showing up in public view. In October 2022, it was parked at Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach with a new TRUMP paint job and a new American flag on the tail. On June 12, 2023, former President Trump disembarked Trump Force One at Miami International Airport in Florida, another reminder that the jet remains part of the family's travel routine.
For now, the July 9 tour does not point to a new mission for the aircraft. It does, however, underline the same thing the plane has signaled for years: when Trump Force One lands, it is never just about transportation, and at Pbi Airport it is now arriving under a name that carries the Trump brand as well.
