The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are set to sweep over Las Vegas Ballpark at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, opening Battle For Vegas with a flyover tied to the America250 celebration. The moment will land before gates open at 6 p.m., the Home Run Derby presented by the Athletics starts at 7 p.m., and first pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m.

Reilly Smith, who is hosting the event and serving as captain of Team Reilly, gets the kind of kickoff that turns a charity night into a showpiece. Las Vegas Ballpark was chosen as one of ten landmarks and neighborhoods across the Las Vegas Valley taking part in the community-wide celebration, putting the stadium inside a larger civic map rather than leaving it as a standalone venue.

That matters because Battle For Vegas has grown into a serious fundraiser since its launch in 2019, raising more than $1.2 million for local nonprofits. The 2026 proceeds will benefit the Battle For Vegas Foundation and community partners including Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada and Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, with a National Anthem performance by Nick Carter before he takes the field as a member of Team Reilly.

The night is built to feel generous, but it still depends on premium experiences and sponsorship opportunities that remain available, a reminder that charity events of this scale are part civic celebration and part business model. The program also includes appearances from Chance, Spruce the Goose and Aviator, and a postgame fireworks show presented by Century Gaming Technologies.

For Smith, the flyover gives Battle For Vegas a national frame before the first ball is thrown, but the real test is whether the event again turns spectacle into money for the causes it supports. The schedule is already set; what remains is how much the night adds once the Thunderbirds pass overhead and the game begins.
