Afil Games says its games are being removed from the PlayStation Store and that Sony has blocked the studio from releasing any more titles on PS4 and PS5. The announcement lands now because Afil Games says PlayStation has been tightening its publishing rules since the beginning of this year, and the studio is one of the clearest examples of how far that shift has gone. For players who have followed its catalog, the change does not just affect new releases; it means existing titles are set to disappear from the PSN Store in the near future.
Afil Games framed the move in direct terms, saying the new guidelines do not fit its business model. That matters because the studio has been a prolific presence on PlayStation, with a catalog that spans more than 140 games on PS4 and PS5. The friction is hard to miss. For now, Afil Games says the removals will happen in the near future, but it has not named every title that will vanish or given an exact date. The studio says it will keep working on new projects for Xbox One, Xbox Series, Microsoft Store and Nintendo Switch, while thanking PlayStation players for the support that helped it grow. The unanswered question is no longer whether the catalog will shrink; it is how soon the store will start clearing it.
