HBO Max has released the official trailer for Stuart Fails To Save The Universe, and the spinoff now has a clear launch date: Thursday, July 23 at 9 pm ET. The ten-episode season will stream on HBO Max and then continue with a new episode every Thursday.
That makes the trailer more than a tease. It is the first firm signal of when viewers will meet Stuart Bloom again, this time with the comic book store owner at the center of a story built around damage control after he breaks a device made by Sheldon and Leonard. The broken machine triggers a multiverse Armageddon, which is not the kind of problem anyone solves with a quick reset.
The timing explains why the title is drawing attention now. A teaser for the series was already shown on Wednesday during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation in New York, but the trailer gives the clearest look yet at how the new series will play. It also confirms that the show is being positioned as a Big Bang Theory spinoff with a ten-episode run that begins mid-summer and then unfolds week by week.
Kevin Sussman returns as Stuart, and the trailer frames him as a man forced to restore reality after his mistake sets off the disaster. He is not alone. Lauren Lapkus appears as his girlfriend Denise, Brian Posehn plays geologist friend Bert, and John Ross Bowie is back as quantum physicist Barry Kripke. The setup is straightforward even if the consequences are not: Stuart has to keep moving through a problem that keeps getting larger.

One line from Bert captures the mood: “How is it out there?” The answer, at least in the trailer, is not encouraging. “I think there’s room for improvement,” he says.
That is where the friction sits. The title promises trouble, and the trailer backs it up. Stuart is trying to undo a catastrophe he caused, but the people and versions around him do not make the mission look simple, or even possible. Another voice in the trailer, from Alternate Stuart Bloom, sharpens the premise further: “I’ve only got a few minutes to explain this…. so you gotta focus,” he says before adding, “I’m you from another stream of reality.”
