Claude AI went down on Sunday, and the trouble was broad enough to send more than 2,000 users to Downdetector with reports of problems. The outage began just after 8 p.m. and quickly turned into an error-message night for people trying to use Claude Chat, Claude Code and the app.
That is why the search term “response incomplete claude” started trending on Google. Users were not dealing with a single glitch; most complaints centered on Claude Chat and Claude Code, while some people said they could not access the app at all.
Downdetector’s count gave the outage its scale. More than 2,000 reported problems is enough to show a service failure that reached far beyond an isolated account issue, especially when the complaints cluster around the core tools people use to reach Claude.
The pause in service also came with an absence that matters as much as the outage itself: there was no timetable for the fix. These kinds of problems are often resolved quickly, but on Sunday the disruption was still ongoing, and users had no clear sense of when Claude would be back to normal.
The open question is not whether people noticed. They did, in large numbers. It is how long the outage will last before the error messages give way to working access again.
