Xfinity was facing a possible outage on Monday as reports surged past 30,000 on Downdetector.com, a rapid climb that put the service issue in front of users already asking whether Xfinity was down. As of the latest update, no public comment had been made by the company.
The scale is what made the search spike now. At 1:03 p.m. PT, more than 12,000 users had reported problems, and later Monday that figure had risen to more than 18,000, then more than 24,000, before topping 30,000. Most users saying they had a problem pointed to TV connection issues, which made the outage chatter more specific than a vague slowdown or a single isolated glitch.
Downdetector.com tracks outages by collecting status reports from multiple sources, so a sharp rise in reports does not by itself prove a confirmed service breakdown. But the pattern here was hard to miss: the number of complaints kept climbing, and the Xfinity status map on the company’s website was not loading at the same time, leaving users with one more reason to look for answers.
That is the part Xfinity has not yet answered in public. The reports show a possible outage with a clear concentration in TV complaints, but they do not say what caused it or whether the service disruption was officially acknowledged. For now, the numbers are the story, and they are still moving upward.
