Spotify Down? DoorDash outage hits thousands, then is resolved Tuesday

DoorDash appeared to be back up and running on Tuesday after a morning outage that left more than 36,000 users reporting problems by 10:20 a.m. ET. The company said just before noon ET that it had resolved the issue.

The spike in reports made clear why people were searching for whether DoorDash was down. The complaints poured in fast enough to show a broad disruption, not a small glitch, and Downdetector’s live outage tracker captured the surge as it built across the morning.

The biggest share of reports came from New York, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas and Los Angeles, putting the problem across several major U.S. cities at once. That kind of spread matters because it points to a service problem hitting multiple markets rather than a single local issue.

DoorDash used an X post to say the outage had been resolved and apologized for the disruption. It also said it was working hard to correct any impacted Dashers and orders ASAP, a sign that fixing the platform itself did not immediately clear every effect of the outage.

The cause of the outage has not been explained, and that leaves the most basic question unanswered even after the service came back. For users trying to place orders or complete deliveries on Tuesday, the important fact was simpler: the interruption was large, brief and fixed before noon, but not before it affected thousands across several cities.
