FIFA released its World Cup 2026 anthem, “DNA,” on Wednesday, June 10, bringing Megan Thee Stallion, David Guetta, Andrea Bocelli and HUNTR/X’s EJAE together on one global dance track just a day before the tournament kicks off. The song arrived on streaming services through SALXCO UAM/Def Jam Recordings as the 48-team World Cup prepared to begin on June 11.
The release gives the tournament a new musical marker at the exact moment fans are turning toward the opening ceremony and the first matchups. The United States opens against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Friday night, June 12, while the final is set for July at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where Madonna, Shakira and BTS are slated to co-headline the halftime show.
Guetta leads the dance-heavy production, while Bocelli called the invitation to sing the anthem and take part in the opening ceremony an honor that moved him deeply. His remarks frame the track as more than a pop crossover: FIFA has built it as a World Cup anthem meant to travel far beyond one stage, one language or one genre.
That is where EJAE’s role stands out. She said it was especially meaningful to write Korean lyrics for “DNA,” calling it an honor to represent South Korea on this stage. She also pointed back to a childhood memory that clearly still carries weight: being in Seoul during the 2002 World Cup, when she watched the city unite and saw strangers hug in the street to celebrate.
Her presence gives the anthem a personal link to the tournament’s emotional pull, even as the project itself is a deliberately international one led by FIFA with artists from different countries. That mix is the point of the release. It is also the source of the question now hanging over it: how prominently EJAE will appear when the opening ceremony arrives and the song moves from streaming platforms to the stadium. For now, FIFA has answered the immediate question by putting “DNA” in front of the World Cup before the first ball is kicked.
