Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is expected to appear at Summer Game Fest 2026, setting up a major Ff7 Revelation at Geoff Keighley’s showcase before fans have even seen a trailer. Insider Nate the Hate said Square Enix will show the game during the event, though the company has not officially confirmed the reveal.
The timing matters because Keighley is billing this year’s Summer Game Fest as the biggest yet, and his live show goes on Friday, June 5, from the Dolby Theatre at 2 p.m. Pacific Time, 5 p.m. Eastern Time and 11 p.m. CEST. That makes the event the clearest moment yet for Square Enix to put the trilogy’s final chapter in front of the public, with the possibility of a launch window for next year hanging over the presentation.
For fans of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, the expected reveal would be the first substantial look at the third and final installment in a project Square Enix has said will bring the story to a close. The company has also said the game is meant to feel like a new gaming experience and that its ending should satisfy old-timers and newcomers alike, a balance that will matter if the publisher uses the stage to show how far along the project has come.
Square Enix has already signaled that it is not rebuilding the game on Unreal Engine 5, instead sticking with Unreal Engine 4 so development can move more smoothly with tools the team already knows. It has also said the title will not be a PlayStation console exclusive at launch, with every platform getting the game right away and PC serving as the lead platform.
That leaves one gap the audience will be watching for on Friday: whether the game is actually shown, and whether Square Enix uses the moment to put a date, or at least a release window, on what current estimates suggest should arrive next year. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has just landed on Xbox Series S|X and Nintendo Switch 2, but the next big step for the remake project is still the final reveal.
