unveiled the Nuvolari on June 4, introducing its first supercar with a high-performance hybrid powertrain and putting a 1,001 PS figure on the kind of car that usually arrives with more promise than proof. The new model is limited to 499 units, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.

That is why the Nuvolari is being searched now: it is a dated product announcement, not a concept tease, and it comes with specific performance numbers that make it more than a styling exercise. Audi says the car can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, reach 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds and exceed 350 km/h, while the company frames it as the fastest production vehicle in its history.

said the Nuvolari shows what happens when the focus is on technology, performance and execution through teamwork. On paper, Audi has backed that up with a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine delivering 588 kW, or 800 hp, three axial flux electric motors rated at 110 kW each and a lithium-ion battery with a gross capacity of 7.3 kWh. The combustion engine develops 730 Nm of torque and revs to 10,000 rpm, while two oil-cooled motors at the front axle deliver up to 2,150 Nm.

There is still one claim that will draw scrutiny. Audi says the Nuvolari is the most powerful and fastest production vehicle in the history of the four rings, but the announcement does not show an independent check of that comparison. What is clear is that the brand is using the car to mark a shift in its production line: the Nuvolari is the first vehicle to follow Audi’s new design philosophy, with the company’s new Titanium color, a new Audi Space Frame with a carbon exterior, quattro predictive ride, active aerodynamics and Formula 1-inspired innovations.

said the team’s technical expertise, innovative strength and dedication are reflected not only in the car’s performance, but also in the speed and precision with which its technology moved into a production vehicle. The unresolved part is the price, which Audi has not disclosed yet. For now, the next milestone is fixed: 499 buyers will get the first cars when deliveries start in the first half of 2027.
