Goa’s first dedicated solar and energy storage platform ended this week when the inaugural Solar & Storage Expo Goa 2026 concluded at Novotel Goa Panjim. The event brought together government leaders, industry experts, technology providers, EPCs, developers, manufacturers, investors and clean energy stakeholders under one roof.
Shri Ramkrishna Alias Sudin Dhavalikar, the Hon’ble Minister for Power, New & Renewable Energy, Government of Goa, led the ceremonial lamp-lighting inauguration, giving the expo an official start that matched its ambitions. Shri Sanjeev Joglekar attended as Guest of Honor, while the program moved through panel discussions on Goa’s renewable energy roadmap, solar deployment opportunities, advances in energy storage, policy developments, investment trends and the future of sustainable power infrastructure.
The event concluded with the Goa Energy Excellence Awards 2026, which recognized organizations, projects and professionals for contributions to innovation, sustainability and excellence in the clean energy sector. The award winners were felicitated by Shri Rodolfo Fernandes, Member of Legislative Assembly, Government of Goa, at a close that tied the exhibition floor to the state’s policy and political leadership.
What the expo did not provide was a hard measure of what success meant. There were no attendance totals, no deal announcements and no project commitments cited to show how far the discussions went beyond the stage and the exhibition stands. That leaves the strongest evidence in the event itself: Goa now has its first dedicated solar and storage platform, and the people shaping the sector were in the same room when it opened and when it ended.
The next test is whether this debut becomes a fixed date on Goa’s clean energy calendar. If future editions follow, they will need to show more than visibility and applause. They will need to show whether the conversations in Panjim translate into deployment, investment and a clearer path for the state’s energy future.
