Genie Bouchard is back in the French Open spotlight, this time with a microphone instead of a racket. The 32-year-old Canadian has joined TNT Sports’ broadcast team at Roland Garros and appeared as a commentator beside the clay court, giving tennis fans a familiar face in a new role.
She posted photos to her 1.4 million followers from the venue, wearing a mini dress with a vibrant pattern and writing, “Hello Roland Garros. It’s truly a joy to be here with you.” The reaction came fast. Comments under the post praised the look in language that ranged from playful to breathless, including, “This photo should be hung in the Louvre Museum,” “I’m going to change my name to Roland Garros,” “Truly dazzlingly beautiful,” and “Looks like it tore straight out of a comic book.”
The attention is not just about style. Bouchard reached the 2014 Wimbledon final, where she lost to Petra Kvitova, and also made the semifinals at both the Australian Open and the French Open that year, climbing to a career-high world ranking of No. 5. She later left the tennis court at the end of 2025 and switched to pickleball, before moving into commentary and making her debut as a tennis analyst in March at the Indian Wells Open.
That past makes her new role at Roland Garros feel like a full-circle moment, but it also explains why it stands out. Bouchard is being praised for her ease on camera and for bringing a former player’s eye to the broadcast, yet her career path has already moved far beyond the tour she once helped define. The French Open appearance shows how quickly tennis has become part of her next act, even if the length of that run at TNT Sports has not been made public.
For now, Bouchard is giving Roland Garros a different kind of star power, and the response suggests viewers are happy to see her back in the frame. What remains open is whether this is a one-tournament assignment or the start of a longer broadcasting role.
