Vertical has released the first trailer for The Get Out, giving the Russell Crowe action thriller its first public push and locking in a June 26, 2026 theatrical release. The film will then arrive on digital and on-demand June 30, a four-day window that puts the campaign squarely in motion for summer 2026.
Crowe plays a nightclub owner trying to walk away from a dangerous life and settle into retirement with his girlfriend, but the trailer shows how quickly that plan unravels when masked gunmen, ruthless cartels and a mysterious newcomer close in. For viewers searching now, the appeal is simple: the first look confirms not just the date, but the film’s cast and the shape of the story that will carry it there.
Alongside Crowe, the cast includes Luke Evans, Teresa Palmer, Nina Dobrev and Aaron Paul. Derrick Borte directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Forte, adapting Thomas Perry’s 2010 novel Strip. It is another turn for Crowe after 2025’s Nuremberg and 2026’s Beast, with The Weight and Unabomber next on his list.
The trailer’s most pointed question is the one hanging over the business itself: what does the mysterious newcomer really want if he is interested in buying it while the owner is trying to get out alive? That is the hook the footage now puts on display, and it is also the reason the film’s June release dates matter — the setup is already in place, but the answer to that question is still being held back.
