lounge chairs sold on Amazon are being recalled after a report that a person’s finger was amputated while the chair was being adjusted. The announced the recall on Thursday and said customers should stop using the chairs immediately.

The recall covers about 1,155 blue outdoor lounge chairs, model NP1005NY, sold from August 2023 through October 2025 on Amazon and through the company’s own website. The chairs measure 76 inches long, 23 inches wide and 13 inches high, and they use a five-position adjustable locking system with a backrest that rises from 13.5 inches to 26.5 inches.

That adjustable design is what made the product a hazard. The commission said a customer’s finger can be caught in a pinch point when the chair is adjusted, creating an amputation risk. The model number appears on the front of the packaging, a detail that matters now for anyone checking storage, garage shelves or a recent delivery box against the recall notice.

The injury report gives the recall its force, but it also leaves one thing unresolved: how many other close calls, if any, led regulators to act. For now, the warning is direct. Anyone who bought the chair is being told to stop using it and contact Giantex for a full refund, a reminder that a product sold as an adjustable outdoor lounge chair can turn dangerous at the hinge point when that adjustment is exactly what the buyer tries to use.
