The Hollywood Creative Alliance unveiled the nominees for the 2026 Astra TV Awards on Wednesday, and HBO Max’s The Pitt led the field with 12 nominations. Carrie Coon was among the performers singled out more than once in the announcement, which arrives ahead of the Aug. 15 ceremony in Los Angeles.
The Pitt was nominated for Best Drama Series and earned acting recognition for Noah Wyle, along with two Supporting Drama Actor nominations and four Supporting Drama Actress bids. Apple TV’s Shrinking followed as the top comedy contender with 10 nominations, while Netflix’s Beef led the limited series race with nine nominations.
The ballot stretches well beyond the top-line totals. Bill Lawrence picked up nine nominations for HBO’s Rooster and seven for ABC’s Scrubs revival, while Beef drew acting bids for Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny. Michelle Pfeiffer landed double bids for Margo’s Got Money Troubles and The Madison, Brittany Snow was nominated for The Beast in Me and The Hunting Wives, Kaitlin Olson for Hacks and High Potential, John C. McGinley for Rooster and Scrubs, and Seth MacFarlane for Ted and Family Guy.
The nomination slate also spans limited series, TV movie, cast ensemble, directing and writing categories, making the 2026 field unusually broad even before a winner is named. That breadth is what gives the list its weight: several performers are competing against themselves in the same announcement, a reminder of how crowded the television awards landscape has become.
For Carrie Coon, the double-bid recognition puts her in the same bracket as the season’s most heavily nominated names, but the bigger story is that the Astras have once again turned one nominations rollout into a map of the TV year. The ceremony in Los Angeles on Aug. 15 will show whether that wide-open field produces a clear front-runner or spreads the honors across several shows.
