The second half of the Smithy’s VFL season now has a clearer shape, with dates and times confirmed for Rounds 14 to 20 and the VFLW schedule locked in for Rounds 7 to 13. The update also confirms broadcast plans across Kayo Sports, the ABC, Seven Tasmania and SEN Tasmania, while later rounds in both competitions remain waiting on AFL fixture scheduling.
Among the headline matches, Carlton will meet Werribee at IKON Park on Saturday 27 June at 10:00am in Round 14, while Collingwood faces Richmond at Victoria Park that same day at 12:00pm. Round 15 brings two matches in the same morning window for Essendon and the Magpies’ rivals, with Collingwood hosting Brisbane Lions at 10:00am on Saturday 4 July and Richmond taking on Carlton at IKON Park at 12:00pm. Essendon also plays St Kilda at Windy Hill on Sunday 5 July at 12:00pm, before the fixtures stretch into July with Brisbane Lions versus Essendon on Sunday 12 July at 10:00am and Essendon against Coburg on Sunday 19 July at 10:00am.
Kayo Sports will show eight Smithy’s VFL matches across Rounds 14 to 20, with coverage also available on Foxtel and internationally on WatchAFL. The ABC will continue its one-match-per-round Saturday broadcast, starting from 12:00pm, on its main channel in Victoria and on ABC iview nationally. Tasmania’s home matches will again carry a wider broadcast footprint, with the club’s VFL and VFLW home games shown on Seven Tasmania and 7plus Sport nationally, and heard on SEN Tasmania through SEN Tassie 1629am into Hobart and SENTrack 1611am into Launceston and Devonport, with streams also on the SEN app.
The fixture pattern leaves some important dates unresolved. Round 21 of the Smithy’s VFL and Rounds 14 to 16 of the VFLW will be confirmed after the corresponding AFL fixture rounds are scheduled, showing how tightly the state-league calendar remains tied to the national competition. That matters because the current release already stretches deep into August, including St Kilda against Carlton at RSEA Park on Sunday 9 August at 10:00am, Essendon against Collingwood at Windy Hill at 12:00pm, and Tasmania’s VFL and VFLW home games against Werribee and Carlton at North Hobart Oval later that afternoon. For clubs and fans planning ahead, the picture is better than it was a day ago, but not complete.
The release also gives supporters a practical detail that rarely gets top billing but shapes attendance: where Smithy’s VFL matches are ticketed, entry is $10 for adults, $5 for concession holders and free for kids under 15. A new version of the VFL App is also available to download, with live scores and stats staying available through, the AFL Live Official App and the VFL App. The season may still have some dates to fill in, but the road through the middle and back end of the year is now mapped more clearly than before.
